Alpharetta residence combines vintage appeal with fashionable design
Godfrey’s favourite new room is the butler’s pantry, painted in a complementary shade of blue. The glass cabinetry on the high shows her marriage ceremony china assortment from Bernardaud, whereas the refrigerated drawers and “equipment garages” beneath the counter tops conceal meals, kitchen devices, and an ice machine. These permit the household to maintain the counter house clear and arranged.
To deliver Godfrey’s concepts to life, the couple labored with builder Jessica Murphy of Hammer and Concord. One in all Murphy’s insights was serving to the dad and mom make the house extra kid-friendly, nudging them towards shiplap partitions over sheetrock for its easy-to-clean surfaces and sturdiness.
Past the design scheme, the couple has opted to fill their house with vintage items like creamware and botanical prints that embrace the colonial structure model of the home. Some have been scoured from native vintage shops, whereas others (just like the silver tea set within the eating room) have been handed down from Godfrey’s grandmother. “There’s lots of which means in the home, whether or not it’s a mirror or piece of artwork,” Godfrey says.
